Consejo Minero prepares a survey containing all projects or cluster of projects reported by its member companies and accessible to public knowledge.
These are projects or cluster of projects of amounts in excess of US$ 90 million.
Projects consist of two stages or progress statuses. On the one hand, projects “under execution” are those whose investment decision has been made by the company and have obtained all the necessary permits, such as the environmental authorizations. On the other hand, projects “under evaluation” are those already entered into the Environmental Impact Assessment System (SEIA), but the investment decision has not yet been made. In exceptional cases, projects not yet inside the SEIA but scheduled to be by the company will be included.
Consejo Minero does not keep a single total amount but separates the total amount for projects “under execution” from the total amount corresponding to projects “under evaluation”. As they present different certainty levels, they cannot be taken as a whole amount.
