Joaquín Villarino

Executive President

Lawyer of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and PhD in Law of the Universidad de Navarra.

Executive President of Consejo Minero and director of Salfacorp, Salmones Camanchaca, Marsh McLennan Chile and Fundación Patrimonio Cultural de Chile. In addition, he is member of the boards of Corporación Alta Ley, Compromiso Minero, Consejo de Competencias Mineras and Consejo Activa of Larraín Vial.

He has an extensive background in the private business sector, as board member and advisor for companies in the sanitary, shipping, financial, engineering and construction sectors, and a professor of Commercial Law for over 20 years at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Carlos Urenda

Executive Director

Lawyer, holds a Master’s degree in Business Law and an MBA of the Catholic University of Chile.

Prior to joining Consejo Minero, he served as secretary general of the Chilean Chamber of Construction. He was the corporate affairs manager of the electric company Colbún after being general manager of the Confederation of Production and Commerce (CPC).

José Tomás Morel

Director of Studies

Commercial Engineer with a degree in Economy of the Catholic University of Chile, he holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Georgetown University (Ilades, Santiago, Chile).

From 2004 to 2010 he was head of the Markets Development Division of the Ministry of Economy, in charge of competition, consumer protection and tariff regulation of basic services. Between 2010 and 2011, he was an advisor to the Interministerial Coordination Division of the Ministry of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, in public policy analysis.

Christel Lindhorst

Director of Communications

Journalist from the University of Los Andes, holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Communications from the Adolfo Ibáñez University.

Throughout her professional career, she has dedicated to creating strategic planning and institutional positioning; media training for spokespersons and senior positions. She has extensive experience in press and social media management, digital marketing, and the development and positioning of mass communications campaigns. She is an advisor for the Journalism program at the Adolfo Ibáñez University and the Mining Engineering program at the Central University of Coquimbo. In addition, she is a member of the Editorial Committee of the Chilean Mining Skills Council and the Mining Report.

Karla Lorenzo

Director of Comissions and Working Groups

Lawyer from the Gabriela Mistral University and holds a Master’s degree in Business Law from the Adolfo Ibáñez University.

From 2004 to 20174, she was a lawyer at the Direction of Studies of the Chilean Chamber of Construction. Her professional career has focused on consulting, analysis and discussion on regulated markets, especially in real estate, environment, energy and public infrastructure. She has also actively participated in various commissions that bring together the public and private sector.

Natalia Morales

Executive Director of Mining Skills Council

Civil Industrial Engineer from the University of Bío-Bío and MBA of IEDE Business School.

She holds Diplomas in Coaching from the Andrés Bello University; in Academic Management and Corporate Innovation (both from the Catholic University of Chile); and in Consulting (Alberto Hurtado University).

Her work experience combines higher education, consulting, mining and other productive industries. Her professional career has focused on training people as a tool to face organizational transformations, as a pillar of productivity and, above all, as the path to generate opportunities for people, organizations, regions and the country.

Finance and Administration Manager

Professional with extensive experience in administration, having worked for more than 20 years as Academic Coordinator of Postgraduate Programs at Adolfo Ibáñez University.
